A One-off Night of Modern Folk and Acoustic Music: ANEMARA and Finlay Wells
ANEMARA are an international folk quartet formed in Glasgow in 2018, where Scandinavian, Celtic and North American traditions meet. With two fiddles, cello, harp, vocals and step dance, their music is rhythmically charged, melodically captivating and alive with energy. As their notes swirl across the Atlantic, traditions collide in a soundscape that is both thoughtful and joyously dance-driven.
Starting the night, award-winning Scottish musician, composer and producer Finlay Wells brings over 30 years of touring and recording experience into a powerful solo guitar and vocal performance. His music is rooted in original songwriting, shaped by rich acoustic guitar work and subtle ambient sound design — described by Wells as “adventures and responses through acoustic guitar and sound design.” Expect a moving blend of new material ahead of a 2026 release, alongside highlights from his acclaimed solo and collaborative back catalogue.
Together, Finlay Wells and ANEMARA offer a night of deep listening, soaring melodies and irresistible rhythm — music that moves the heart, the mind and the feet!
